Glenda Awtrey, Children & Preschool
Glenda became CHBC Children’s Director in May 2018, one year after she and husband, Stan, joined the church. Together, they home-educated and raised two children to adulthood and SURVIVED. Hallelujah!
Somehow, she retained a small bit of sanity and is eager to come alongside young families in their quest for Godly children and peaceful homes. She loves working with children, their parents and other leaders.
Her favorite ministry is Vacation Bible School because it’s FUN! But…it carries a serious message – the message of HOPE in a hopeless world.
At previous churches, Glenda volunteered as a Sunday School teacher for kindergarteners, director of a missions-emphasis program for kids, co-director of VBS, and middle school leader on Wednesday nights. Glenda’s volunteer work was not limited to children’s ministry. She was asked to coordinate several promotional campaigns, ranging from fund-raising to special events, and served on the Missions Committee.
A trained journalist, her background includes, newspapers, magazines and promotions.
She worked her way through Georgia State University as a shoe salesclerk. She holds a journalism degree with a management minor.
